14 June 2011

Wow – it seems as if Patatfees is a great time to do some bargain hunting – everybody in town is offering specials! Maybe a good idea to start stocking up on Christmas presents – we tend to leave our Christmas shopping to the last minute – when prices are at their peak!

Pop down to Greta’s between Friday 17th and Sunday 19th and see what’s on offer. She is having a stoep sale and the word is out that there will be great bargains to be had.

In the last Napier Natter we listed  the Art Ramble taking place on Friday – well, Helen Vale from The Gallery has just informed me that there will be a 10% discount on all artworks purchased on Friday – plus free wine…and wait for it…you also get a free PATAT with every  purchase. What a bargain!

Via the grapevine….I hear Napier will soon be getting it’s very own pet grooming centre…it’s about time and I for one am really looking forward to it. Watch this space!!

Dee from the Red Windmill has come up with a fab idea – a lifts offered/wanted section in the Napier Natter. Should you be needing a lift to Cape Town/ Hermanus/ wherever – or be planning a trip, but would like someone to share petrol costs, etc – why not drop the Napier Natter an e-mail and we will put it out there! Not only can you save a few bucks, but it also reduces our carbon footprint! Please just bare in mind that we hope to send out a Napier Natter every 10 – 14 days – so plan ahead.

Do you know about the quiz at Pascal’s? It’s held on the 1st Thursday of every month and new teams/newcomers are most welcome. For more information please contact quizmaster John Cook. (Tel number available on request) And the regulars – please remember to book your table in advance to avoid disruption on the night!!

This week in History...

Have you heard the one about...

Mothers - 3 great pieces of advice to pass onto your daughters:
1. Never let your man's mind wander - it's too little to be out alone.
2. Best way to get a man to do something is to suggest they are too old for it.
3. If he asks what sort of books you're interested in, tell him checkbooks.

Remember, any contributions to the Napier Natter are most welcome.
Wishing you all a fantastic Patat Fees
